New Board Chair installed at the C.C.A.A

The Minister of State, Minister of Transport Maigari BELLO BOUBA has installed Maximin Paul NKOUE NKONGO in to his new functions as Board Chairman of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority C.C.A.A.

Speaking during the installation ceremony Tuesday November 23, 2010, the Minister of State, Minister of Transport Maigari BELLO BOUBA on behalf of the government of Cameroon extended hearty congratulations to Maximin Paul NKOUE NKONGO on his appointment.

He advised the new Board Chair to restore a more favourable social environment at the C.C.A.A while focusing on major challenges in aviation such as strengthening flight safety and security supervision, building trust towards development and working partners, upgrading aviation facilities and complying national legislation with requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (I.C.A.O)

The Minister of State, Minister of Transport Maigari BELLO BOUBA asked the incumbent Board Chairman, Maximin Paul NKOUE NKONGO to ensure full cooperation between the C.C.A.A and ASECNA, A.D.C, CAMER Co and all airline companies operating in Cameroon.

To the outgoing Board Chairman, H.E Paul PONDI, the Minister expressed gratitude for the job well done during his time as Board Chair of the C.C.A.A-10 years, since the year 2000 at the inception of the company.

Born on December 15, 1944 at Dschang in the Western region, Maximin Paul NKOUE NKONGO is an architect by profession. He is part of the 1974 badge of graduates of the Poly-technique Institute of Lausanne in Switzerland.

The new Board Chair’s appointment is subject to decree no 2010/351 of November 22, 2010.  Maximin Paul NKOUE NKONGO is a former Minister of the Republic; from 2001 to 2004 he served as Minister of Post and Telecommunications. Prior to his appointment he had been working as a private Geo architecture consultant.

The C.C.A.A headquarters in Yaoundé, venue of the ceremony saw a considerable turnout, the Secretary General for Transport, the Senior Divisional Officer for Mfoundi, Mefou and Afamba, the Commander of the Air Military Base 101, Directors General of the C.C.A.A and managerial staffs from both the C.C.A.A and the Ministry of Transport, friends and family members of the newly appointed Board Chair all turned out to witness the occasion.
