Directors General receive 2012 New Year wishes

Director General Pierre Tankam and Deputy Allabira Mamadou received 2012 New Year wishes from the entire personnel of the CCAA on January 27, 2012 at a prestigious hotel in the capital city Yaoundé.

The traditional New Year wishes ceremony was heavily attended by staff, close friends and relatives.  The two Directors General, Pierre TANKAM and Allabira MAMADOU were offered two bouquets of flowers as a symbol of personnel’s best wishes for 2012. They also shook hands with the entire staff, process which was accompanied by verbal exchanges of greetings -“happy New year Mr. Director General” “Bonne année Monsieur le Directeur General”

The 2012 New Year wishes ceremony was also an opportunity to take stock of last year’s achievements. In a speech by the 1st Technical Adviser to the Director General, Tekou Thomas let out the many strides the C.C.A.A had made in aviation regulation, aviation safety, security, air transport, airport exploitation, training and in the ongoing world bank project to reinforce safety and security in central Africa. The ceremony ended with a cock tail offered by the Directorate General of the CCAA.

New year wishes ceremonies in Cameroon are a conventional way of starting the year- the ceremonies are scheduled and hosted in hierarchical order, from the Presidency down to the ministries and then to the corresponding public and private companies. The ceremony at the CCAA was hosted a few days after that of the Ministry of Transport.
