ASECNA: Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar

Agree by the Dakar Convention of 25 October 1974, ASECNA (Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar) primarily carries out community activities provided in its Article 2 and as subsidiary, manages national activities for the benefit of individual Member States (Articles 10 and 12)

 as well as third party States and bodies (Articles 11 and 12).

According to Article 2 of the Dakar Convention, this agency is responsible for the design, implementation and management of facilities and services relating to the transmission of technical information and traffic, aircraft guidance, air traffic control, flight information, forecasting and reporting to the meteorological department, about traffic routes when it comes to approaching and landing on Community airports.
