New buses for the transportation of ASOs

The first of the two acquisitions was put into service on the road to Yaounde-Nsimalen International Airport on November 18, 2020 with the Airport Security Officers and Agents (ASO) on board.

The acquisition of these new buses thus reinforces the fleet of vehicles of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority intended for the transportation of airport platform personnel.

These two vehicles were acquired within the framework of the agreement for the reinforcement of security measures on airport platforms which exists between the CCAA and the services of the Technical Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic.

The two new, YUTONG- branded, white buses are air-conditioned and of a 55 seats capacity. They are stamped with the CCAA logo.  The first phase of probation which started on Wednesday November 18, 2020 aims to evaluate the performance of these buses and that of the drivers assigned to transport this staff

The objective, eventually, is to save on transport costs and increase the comfort of these staff who are deployed on the ground at our international airports 24/7. This means of transport will also enable these officers and agents to be on time at their workstations and to be timely in passing service.

As a reminder, in the past, these agents were transported by two buses with 28 and 18 seats respectively. These buses had to make several rounds between Yaounde and Nsimalen in view of the number of staff to be transported. With the introduction of these larger capacity buses, CCAA will see a considerable reduction in fuel consumption costs.

A 55-seater bus will also be put into service in Douala.
