Board of Directors approves CCAA's 2020 accounts

The 48th ordinary and 48th extraordinary meeting of the Board of Directors of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) were held from 22 to 23 June 2201 in Garoua in the Benue Department at the Plaza Hotel, under the chairmanship of Mrs. Géneviève Ngouabe, administrator representing the Prime Minister's Office, Chairperson of the said Board in the absence of Mr. Paul Maximin Nkoue Nkongo. Mrs. AVOMO ASSOUMOU Paule épse KOKI, assisted by Mr. ALLABIRA Mamadou, Deputy Director General, reported on the matters on the agenda.
At the end of all its working sessions, several resolutions were taken for the good functioning of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority. Thus, the administrative account alongside the material management account, the management account, the annual performance report for the year 2020 and the revised performance project for the year 2021 were approved.

On the other hand, the Board expressed its satisfaction with the activity carried out by the Directorate General since the last meetings and strongly encouraged it to continue with proactive initiatives that contribute to the development of the civil aviation sector in Cameroon in accordance with the orientations of the Ministry of Transport. The Directorate General was also congratulated for its resilience in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic which led to a drastic drop in air traffic by more than 60%.
It should be noted that in addition to the Board of Directors' work, the 10th and 11th sessions of the TSDP Monitoring and Steering Committee for the air component were held on 24 and 25 June 2021 in Garoua and Maroua respectively. On this occasion, the works of the two Emmergency Operations Units (EOU) under construction were visited by the members of the Board of Directors. And, the progress reports of these works was made known by the various project managers.

 Furthermore, the Director General of the CCAA had working sessions with the personnel of the Garoua and Maroua airport commands and some local realities were experienced first hand.

And before the Board of Directors began its work, the Board members and the Director General paid a courtesy call to the Governor of the Northern Region with whom several important issues relating to airport infrastructure, airport users and staff were discussed.
