Organized within the framework of the Support Project for the Air Transport Sector in Central and West Africa (PASTA-CO) the training spanned from June 21 to 30, 2021 at the Training Center of the CCAA Training School in Douala.

During the ten days of training, it was a question of acquiring practical skills necessary for the trainees to eventually teach according to the TRAINAIR PLUS methodology of ICAO. Indeed, ICAO is moving more and more towards a competency-based approach to the training of aviation professionals. This approach defines competencies in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes to be transmitted in training programs. For this reason, the TRAINAIR PLUS program develops a standardized and specific training methodology, strictly regulated and based on predefined competencies, rigorously evaluated and constantly revised.
These eleven instructors will therefore be able, at the end of this training, to deliver competency-based courses in their respective fields of expertise. It should be noted that participation in this instructor session is conditional on the trainee having a certain expertise in an aviation field.

The participants of the Douala training came from Angola, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Rwanda, Senegal, Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon. They had all been designated by the aeronautical authorities of their respective countries.
A parchment certifying that they are now ICAO approved instructors was given to each trainee.
