Before his burial, the former Minister Maximin Paul NKOUE NKONGO was posthumously elevated to the dignity of Commander of the National Order of Valour on the 4th of February 2023, by the Personal Representative of the Head of State, the Minister of Transport Jean Ernest NGALLE BIBEHE Massena.

The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Nkongsamba was the venue for this grand farewell ceremony to this senior state official who passed away on the 21st of December 2023 at the age of 78.

Several personalities took part in this ceremony which started with the religious service led by Monsignor Dieudonné Espoir Atangana, bishop of the diocese of Nkongsamba.

In his homily taken from the Gospel of Luke 10:25-37, the bishop invited the audience to be good Samaritans for their neighbours in the image of Minister NKOUE NKONGO, who during his earthly existence was always at the service of his country and of others.

These qualities were echoed in the various testimonies of the children, friends, relatives, the Central Committee and the Director General of the CCAA, Paule AVOMO ASSOUMOU KOKI.

Thus, the speakers revealed, in turn, his attachment to human values, his simplicity, his humility, his accessibility, his unlimited generosity, and the greatness of his heart.

For the Director General of the CCAA, one should not forget that it was under the leadership of this benevolent and moderate man that the CCAA underwent significant changes, such as the transformation of the safety and security system, and many other achievements like the construction of its training school which stands proudly at the entrance of the Yaounde Nsimalen International Airport. Consequently, the CCAA has become more reputable among its peers in Africa and elsewhere. And to further magnify the work of this great builder, the Prefect of Moungo, Yves Bernard Noel NDJANA, read out the letter of condolences addressed by the Head of State, H.E. Paul BIYA, to the grieving family of the illustrious departed.

Born on the 15th of  December 1944 in Dschang, Maximin Paul NKOUE NKONGO, an architect by profession, held several high positions such as Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Secretary General of the Ministries of Equipment, Agriculture, Urbanism and Housing, Chairman of the Boards of Directors of the Caisse d'Epargne Postale, Shelter Afrique, the African Housing Fund, the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority; Director of School Construction and Deputy Director of Contracts at the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic.

The great family of the CCAA, led by its Director General and the Deputy Director General, accompanied by the board members of the CCAA as well as many workers of the CCAA, made the trip to Nkongsamba to pay him a final tribute.
