Dedication, zeal, and workplace discipline honored
Honorific Distinction: 231 personnel received the Labour Merit Medals in silver, vermeil (gilded silver), and gold during a ceremony presided over by the Governor of the Centre Region on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, marking International Labour Day.

"On behalf of the President of the Republic, and by the powers vested in me, I bestow upon you the medal of..." This pronouncement, spoken by Mr. Paul Naseri Bea, Governor of the Centre Region, resonated multiple times on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, during the presentation of Labor Merit Medals to deserving personnel of the CCAA (Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority) at the CCAA Training School grounds, amidst the joyful recipients of the day. Present were the top management of the CCAA, along with family, colleagues, and friends who came to celebrate these honoured workers.
These distinctions, totalling 332 silver, vermeil, and gold medals, stand as symbols of recognition and encouragement from top management for the recipients' years of dedicated hard work.
Recognition, Challenges, and Perspectives
It must be said that this year's celebration of International Labour Day took on a particularly significant hue within the CCAA. Indeed, it was a double celebration: the commemoration of International Labour Day coinciding with the awarding of Labour Merit Medals to personnel, an event following the previous one in 2016. Hence, the palpable elation was observed among the staff.
Indeed, one hundred and sixty-five silver medals, one hundred and seventy-nine vermeil medals, and thirty-five gold medals were awarded across the three categories to 231 personnel. In his address for the occasion, the Governor of the Centre Region reminded these recipients that "a society only possesses true dynamism when it finds within itself the means to resolve its problems through social dialogue." These remarks aligned with the theme of this 139th edition of International Labour Day, which focused on social dialogue and decent work. He further urged the personnel to work as a team and commended the efforts of the top management, particularly those undertaken by the Director General through her remarkable achievements and the innovative projects that support government actions.

In the same vein, the staff representative on the board of directors conveyed the personnel's gratitude, recalling the actions undertaken by the General Directorate to enhance excellence, promote the CCAA's influence, and foster the well-being of the staff. Following him, the Director General, Mrs. Paule Avomo Assoumou Koki, called upon all personnel to continue working diligently and to stay focused on the shared vision of making the CCAA "a high-performing and benchmark civil aviation authority worldwide, supporting safe, modern, and competitive air transport for the sustainable development of Cameroon."
This ceremony, rich in sound and colour, benefited from the presence of numerous dignitaries, local administrative authorities, and many families.
