A Seminar on the Introduction and Implementation of Safety Management Systems (ISGS) was held from the 03 - 07 April 2017 in Yaoundé.

The seminar organised by the CCAA for some of its personnel in the field of aviation safety, was led by retired Colonel Alain Georges MOLINIE, former fighter Pilot, Director of Operations at the French Air Safety Institute (IFSA), and Lecturer in the field of aviation safety prevention and training aviation accident investigators.

At the end of these five days of training, the participants, all from the CCAA, will be able, on one hand, to understand the fundamentals and tools of the SGS so as to ensure the setting up and management of these systems and on the other hand to provide the architecture of the SGS toolbox.

In his closing remarks at the seminar, the Director of the CCAA Training School, Mr. ABONDO Cyrille, referring to the favorable echoes he had received, expressed his gratitude to retired Colonel MOLINIE on the quality of the lessons and his availability to participants. He also expressed the wish to strengthen partnership ties between IFSA and the CCAA in the field of training.

Prior to his departure from Cameroon, retired Colonel MOLINIE met with Mrs. AVOMO ASSOUMOU Paule, Director General of the CCAA, at a hearing she had kindly granted him.

It should be remembered that the French Air Safety Institute (IFSA) has ties with the CCAA through a convention aimed at organising two trainings, including the one mentioned in this article and another one relating to airplane accident investigations.
