On July 6 2017, the Deputy General Manager chaired the first preparatory meeting for this event, which will be taking place before the end of this year.

The purpose of the Search and Rescue crisis exercise is to evaluate the effectiveness of a functional element of the SAR system and possibly the whole SAR system in the case of full-scale exercises. The functions that will be tested throughout the exercise, were identified in this meeting. This first step determined the entire process of preparing the exercise.
As a reminder, Cameroon successfully organised such an exercise in July 2013.
