The two sessions chaired by the Minister of Transport (MINT) were held in Yaoundé on the 24th and 25th of October 2017.

The meeting coincides with Camairco’s spring up, a 4% growth in Cameroonian air traffic in 2016 and the advent of new national and international services in the country’s air space.

Minister of Transport, Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo'o, who doubles as NCS’ statutory President in his opening speech, also announced that an ICAO mission will assess in April 2018 the level of implementation of the Corrective Action Plan (CAP) resulting from the report of the security audit it conducted in 2015.

The report then estimated at 63.38% the compliance rate of Cameroon's civil aviation security system with ICAO standards, against 54% in 2008. According to the MINT, this increase, demonstrates increased credibility for Cameroonian civil aviation.

The extraordinary session of April 25th, 2017 for its part, focused on the examination of draft civil aviation security texts.
