Civil aviation safety culture promotion

The CCAA sponsored the "Think Safety" seminar organized from 12 to 14 September 2018 in Cameroon by the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers' Associations (IFATCA).

In her opening remarks, the Director General recalled that the CCAA has chosen to sponsor this seminar because it is in line with the ICAO SARPs on the implementation of the National Safety Program (NSP), particularly those relating to the conduct of security promotion activities.

The Director General congratulated the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers' Associations (IFATCA) and the Association of Air Traffic Controllers of Cameroon (CATCA) for this capacity building initiative which will contribute to the improvement of aviation safety.

During these three days, the instructor , Mr. Philippe Domogala, representing IFATCA, entertained scores of  participants from Yemen, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Mauritania and Cameroon on "Just Culture" in aviation and on crisis communication following an incident or accident.
This seminar was an advocacy for civil aviation professionals in general and air traffic controllers in particular, for the establishment of a fair culture in their work environment to accompany the mandatory and voluntary account of safety events.
