A mission of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism led by Mr. NGWANE Georges ESAMBE has visited the institution to assess the level of practice of bilingualism.

The team discussed with target structures such as: the Public Relations Unit, the Division of Cooperation, Regulation and Aeronautic Communication, the Information Systems Division, the mail and the General Affairs Department, on the use of English and French at the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority.

Since December 30, 2018, the Head of Mission and his suite have been able to verify this reality in terms of working documents, the organization of services and how users of  CCAA services are welcomed.

The goal is "to ensure that the constitutional provisions making English and French the official languages are applied within the CCAA," the head of Mission said.

For example, during the reporting and wrap-up session on December 03, 2018, the Commission revealed that "progress has been noted in some areas with other areas requiring improvement". Recommendations have therefore been made to increase the level of language practice and the systematic use of both languages on all CCAA communication etc. Also, the institution of a day of bilingualism within the CCAA has been proposed to Top Management.

The Deputy Director General of the CCAA thanked this team and promised that more efforts will be made to promote bilingualism within the institution.
