Since May 22, 2019, the CCAA has initiated an awareness campaign focusing on the culture of civil aviation security among the various actors involved in the security chain at selected airports in Cameroon. This operation, which was launched at the international airport of Yaoundé Nsimalen, continued on the airport platform of Douala and will have to extend to the airport of Bafoussam and to the international airports of Garoua, Maroua.

This campaign is intended for staff on duty at airports, airlines, airport service providers, and security partner administrations. Its objectives are to inculcate the best practices at the airport with respect to compliance and implementation of security measures. It is also a question of getting this airport population to take ownership of the security culture in order to help the aeronautical authority to respond effectively to international expectations of civil aviation security.

Through an edifying presentation, followed by discussions on security the participants are now better equipped and armed to fight effectively against acts of unlawful interventions that weigh on civil aviation. Since security concerns everyone, they were all reminded that every link in the chain of aviation security, from the smallest to the largest, has an essential mission and must remain alert, vigilant and denounce any suspicious behavior. Also, each participating actor learned that submitting to screening inspection and putting on identification badges is obligatory when entering security zones with regulated access. In order to achieve all this, the staff must preach by example.  The campaign ends June 9, 2019 in the North.
