Under the leadership of the Director General, the members of the Board of Directors were given a tour on Thursday 18th February 2021 of the construction sites of the buildings to house the future Training School and the CCAA's Air Search and Rescue Centre (SRS). This was as part of the monitoring of the major worksites undertaken at this airport platform.
At the Training Centre, the work of installing ventilation ducts, cable trays, air conditioning ducts, rainwater, waste water and black water drainage pipes, wooden ceilings and plasterboard, laying of Pouma stone, tiles, wooden pre-frames, etc. was appreciated.
At the Search and Rescue Centre the day's guests, under the explanations of the CCAA's project monitoring team, were able to appreciate the exterior and interior rendering work, as well as the installation of the roof structure. And, other works in progress such as, the work to upgrade the platform, the construction of the fence, the electrical networks, the underground water evacuation pipes and the construction of the water cover.

With regard to the works on the ground, the directors congratulated the Managing Director, Project Owner, on the one hand for their quality, and on the other hand for the levels of progress thus achieved, despite the health crisis caused by COVID 19 which appeared in March 2020.
By and large, the rate of progress to date of the Training School's work, including VRD, is 53.78%. That of the Air Search and Rescue Centre is 87.42%, for an overall rate of 55.41%. This rate will increase considerably in the coming days, with the arrival at the end of February 2021 of the orders announced by the CHINA SHANXI CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING (GROUP) Company responsible for carrying out the work (aluminium doors and windows and curtain walls). It is worth noting that the contractual end date of the basic contract and of Amendment 2 is 16th May 2021.
These two worksites, and the future CCAA headquarters building complex will undoubtedly contribute to the outreach of the Yaoundé-Nsimalen airport platform, which is one of the main gateways to Cameroon.
