The Steering and Follow-up Committee of the CCAA Headquarters Building Project on the field

Two sessions of the Steering and Follow-up Committee of the project for the construction of the headquarters building and other related investments on the Yaounde-Nsimalen airport platform have held on November 16 and 17, 2022 in the premises of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) Training School in Nsimalen. 
The working sessions were chaired by Mr. GHOUMO Jean Pierre Robins, administrator representing the Presidency of the Republic and who was elected by his peers in the absence of Mr. NKOUE NKONGO Paul MAXIMIN, the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the said Committee. The works were reported by Mrs. ASSOUMOU KOKI Paule, the Director General of the CCAA, and focused mainly on the presentation of the state of progress of phase 1 of the construction project of the new CCAA headquarters; the visit of the facilities of the CCAA Training School and the Search and Rescue Centre (SAR); the presentation of the architectural and technical studies of the future CCAA headquarters building and the possible financing options for its realization.
As of November 10, the CCAA's EFO is 99.36% complete, and some minor electrical wiring and air conditioning work is being completed. The provisional acceptance of the EFO building is planned for the end of November 2022.
As for the Search and Rescue (SAR) Center, its work is 99.41% complete.
In sum, the progress rate for the two buildings (EFO and SAR) is 99.37%.
This construction constitutes the first phase of the work on the future CCAA headquarters building complex, started in 2018 and carried out by the CHINA SHANXI CONSTRUCTION GROUP.
After the exchanges in the conference room, between the members of the committee and the architect on the various components of the model of the CCAA headquarters building, and the financing options, the members of the Committee visited the CCAA Training School building and the SAR center which is being finalized. They congratulated the Director General for the realization of these large-scale works, contributing to the development of the Yaounde Nsimalen airport and the influence it wields in the area.
