Garoua International Airport: the new commander takes charge

The Director General of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA), Mrs Paule AVOMO ASSOUMOU KOKI, installed Mr Boubakary BASSORO on 8 July 2024 in the presence of the Deputy Director General of the CCAA, Mr Allabira MAMADOU, the Prefect of Bénoué, Mr Oumarou Haman Wabi, the Sub-Prefect of Garoua, Mr Ismaëlou ADAMA, the heads of the CCAA's security partner administrations and those of the entities located on the Garoua airport platform.

The appointment of the new Commander follows a minor reorganisation that the Board of Directors of the CCAA approved within the institution on June 28, 2024.
In her speech, the Director General expressed her appreciation for the great work done by the outgoing Commander, Mr TCHOUMY Collins, at Garoua International Airport and for the perfect collaboration he established with the administrative authorities and partner administrations.
She then expressed her gratitude to the administrative authorities for their constant support for the cause of safety and security at this airport, to the airport manager, to the partner administrations and all his Garoua staff for their commitment. 
As for the new commander  Mr Boubakary BASSORO, she invited him to ensure that the achievements of the recent safety audit are maintained and to do his utmost to prepare for the forthcoming safety audit with the ADC managers.
She also encouraged him to work in synergy with his colleagues, the safety partners and all the entities operating on the site. 
Internally, he will also have to monitor the work on the CDOU and the various developments in this project so that, in the short term, the relocation of some staff can be effective on these premises. The new commander of Garoua International Airport is a manager who was hired at the CCAA on  July 1, 2008.
