On Thursday, February 6, 2025, the CCAA Training School opened its doors to high school students as part of the 59th Youth Day celebrations, offering an immersive experience in the world of civil aviation.
Following the AERO days organized in December 2024, the EFO-CCAA welcomed around one hundred final-year students from various disciplines to explore different careers in air transport and the aviation industry.
The students benefited from an enlightening presentation on the aviation sector delivered by CCAA technical staff. They engaged actively, asking numerous questions during the presentation and site visit, such as, “How do I become an aircraft pilot?” and “What training is required for an aviation career?”
For two hours, the students learned about various professions including flight attendant, air traffic controller, and operational safety officer (AOS). They were also educated on essential concepts related to security in civil aviation, including appropriate behaviour when arriving at an airport, as well as the restrictions and prohibitions that air travellers must observe.
Several practical scenarios were discussed, including how to respond during a flight in the event of a distress signal from the pilot or in situations like a health or epidemiological crisis—such as the COVID-19 pandemic, which severely impacted aviation operations.
After this informative session, the students were given a guided tour of the facilities by the Training School's managers. The managers answered the students' questions at each stage of the visit.

Being situated near the airport, they even visited some access points to Yaoundé-Nsimalen International Airport. This year’s Youth Day theme is “Youth, Maturity, and Responsibility for the Consolidation of Peace, Security, Economic Growth, and the Democratic Process.” Through this initiative, the CCAA is dedicated to actively promoting careers in civil aviation.
