Mr. KIAPO François Alexandre Director General of the Air Safety Supervision Agency in Central Africa (ASSA-AC) made his first visit to the CCAA on Monday, September 10, 2018.

During the visit he presented his work strategy and solicited the support of the CCAA for the period of his term in office.

Essentially, he would like to help CEMAC Member States to fulfill ICAO's obligations on a common basis, to bring them to solidarity in order to better ensure their obligations of supervision of air safety and most especially ensure that the States are at the same level of training. To this end, the Agency has set up a vast capacity building program for member states of which CAR, Congo and Gabon are already beneficiaries, Cameroon being the next.

According to the Director General of the Agency, its success is based on the engagement, collaboration and contributions of egalitarian States.

In response, Madam the Director General of the CCAA confirmed the availability of the CCAA to support this body. She also proposed that pragmatism and the promotion of state expertise in order to pool efforts within ASSA-AC should be the basis of collaboration.

Many other points such as airport certification and regulation were discussed during this visit. The headquarters of ASSA-AC is in N'Djamena.
