First meeting of the year 2022 of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee (NCASC)

The working session was chaired Friday, June 3, 2022 by the Minister of Transport Jean Ernest Masséna NGALLE BIBEHE who enjoined the actors present to be more vigilant and to increase synergy of action in the face of the common challenges facing civil aviation in Cameroon.
The work of the NCASC today focused on the evaluation of the level of security at airports, the evaluation of the threat and discussions on the draft revision of the National Civil Aviation Security Program (NCASP).
It should be noted that this session is held in the aftermath of the crash of an aircraft belonging to the company Caverton, on the route Dompta-Belabo-Nsimalen which caused the death of eleven persons. And, in a context marked by the revival of activities in the air transport sector. A situation that increases the risk of perpetrating acts of unlawful interference at airports.
Faced with this, the Minister of Transport reiterated the urgency to implement measures to raise the level of security on all airport platforms in Cameroon. To this end, he reminded the CCAA to continue to conduct an effective supervision of the implementation of security measures, while inviting all ministerial departments present at our airports to be more vigilant and to increase synergy of action in the face of common challenges that we face. 
According to minister, security is everyone's business, and the pooling of efforts of all stakeholders of the airport platforms in terms of security will, for sure, enable the achievement of better performance and reassure travelers of the security of destination Cameroon. Furthermore, the favorable feedback from the work done by the teams at the Bafoussam, Garoua, Yaounde and Douala airports during the recent TotalEnergies AFCON 2021 in terms of security should lead everyone to do the utmost to maintain the high standard achieved.
It should be noted that the rich exchanges between the members led to beneficial proposals for our Civil Aviation Security system and several recommendations were made. This work was attended by the Minister Delegate of Transport, the Directors General of : the CCAA, ADC, Camair-Co, the Inspector General of the Ministry of Transport and representatives of administrations, members of the said committee.
