The Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority has recently acquired and installed this new state-of-the-art security equipment as part of the intensification and strengthening of the implementation of security in Cameroon's Airports.

Thus, with these acquisitions, the screening function of passengers and their cabin and hold luggage has undergone a notable technological evolution. Also, the quality of the image (high definition image - RX 622) and the viewing of items on several planes (RX 638 DV) are significantly improved.
These include the acquisition and operationalization of five (05) new X-ray scanners (Rapidscan 622) at Yaoundé-Nsimalen International Airport; the installation of a new X-ray scanner (rapidscan 622) and a new X-ray scanner (Rapiscan 638 DV) at Douala International Airport; and two new X-ray scanners (Rapidscan 622) at Garoua International Airport.
This evolution was noticeable during the recent AFCON hosted in Cameroon, in the systematic use of the said equipment at airports.
It is imperative to put in place these security measures as they fall within the context of the Integrated Project for the Improvement of Security in Cameroon Airports (PIASAC).
Hence passengers are obliged to comply with the instructions and submit objects they carry to screening before entering the Security Access Zone (ZSAR) in all airports to ensure safety and security for all.
