This year, International Civil Aviation Day is celebrated under the theme: " Advancing innovation for global aviation development".
Cameroon, like the international community, is celebrating International Civil Aviation Day on 7 December 2022.
One of the goals of this day proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1996 is to raise awareness of the importance of international civil aviation for the socio-economic development of countries. It was established in 1994 as part of ICAO's 50th-anniversary activities.
In Cameroon, several flagship and innovative projects have been undertaken in the aviation sector with the aim of developing this sector, including the development and modernization of airports, the construction of infrastructures, and the acquisition of the latest generation of security equipment in our airports, the deployment of operational security units at airports, the acquisition of patrol vehicles to guard the airport platforms, the acquisition of telecommunication equipment, the construction of an ultra-modern training school by the CCAA which provides training in the field of civil aviation and in other specific specialties, computerization and much more. The numerous achievements thus recorded by our country aim at being in conformity with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), securing our airports, and reassuring tourists about the destination of Cameroon. Especially since it is time to resume operations on all the platforms of the world after the painful moments imposed by Covid-19.
