Several contracts are awaiting signature, and some are in the process of being awarded. These include work on the patrol road at Douala International Airport and security fencing at Yaoundé and Douala International Airports.
The members of the steering committee urged the management unit of the PDST aviation section to do its utmost to complete the projects that have not yet been carried out on time.
These works were carried out within the framework of a financing agreement of 30 billion FCFA from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) granted to the State of Cameroon and retroceded to the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA), the Executing Agency of the Air Component of the Transport Sector Development Project (TSDP). The director general of the CCAA is in charge of these works.
The aim of this project is to improve safety and security at the four international airports selected in Cameroon (Douala, Yaoundé, Garoua, and Maroua) to comply with the international safety and security standards laid down by the ICAO. The project runs until June 30, 2024.
