Cameroon is participating in the 15th edition of the ICAO Conference on the Negotiation of Air Agreements (ICAN 2023) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from December 3 to 7, 2023.

This event is an important platform for States to engage in bilateral, regional or plurilateral negotiations or consultations on air services. The Cameroonian delegation in Riyadh consists of experts from the Aviation Authority and the national airline Camair-Co, led by His Excellency, IYA TIDJANI, Cameroon's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
On December 3, the opening ceremony of ICAN 2023 was marked by speeches by the President of the Civil Aviation Authority of Saudi Arabia, the host country, H.E. Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, and the President of the ICAO Council, Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano.
During the conference, the Cameroon delegation held nine (09) aeronautical consultation meetings with Mozambique, the United Kingdom, Sierra Leone, Lebanon, Germany, Finland, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar.
These aeronautical consultations led to the initialing of agreements with Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Lebanon, Germany, Finland, Kuwait, and Qatar.
It's worth noting that the initialing of these agreements is the first step towards the operation of air services between Cameroon and these countries. This operation will contribute to the development of air transport in Cameroon and improve the country's air connectivity.
