On Friday, September 13, 2024, a delegation of 32 senior officers from the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) visited the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority Training School (CCAA-TS) to benefit from Cameroonian expertise.
This study visit, supported by the Cameroon Ministry of Defence, is part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Cameroon and Nigeria and was led by Major General MANJANG, Dean of Studies at NACOLM.
Upon arrival, these Nigerian officers, who are currently undergoing continuous training in leadership and strategic studies at NACOLM, showed a keen interest in discovering the CCAA's expertise in the field of civil aviation, as well as that of its training school, its equipment and the training offers at the CCAA-TS.
Several activities were organized during their stay at the CCAA TS, including a presentation on the theme: “The Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority, an instrument of national security and vector of socio-economic development through regional cooperation”.
During the presentation, they were given information on the major role played by the CCAA in regulating and supervising safety and security in Cameroon's airports, in collaboration with the Cameroonian Armed Forces (FMO), to guarantee the serenity of travellers. The momentum generated by the CCAA to build the aviation sector actors' capacity was not left out. A case in point was the partnership forged with the Franco-Luxembourg group Vallair to expand its training offer in aircraft maintenance and recycling, for which the recruitment of candidates for the second batch is underway. Also, the presentation highlighted the role of the CCAA in Cameroon's socio-economic development through regional cooperation.

Following the in-depth discussions, the NACOLM trainees toured the school's facilities, which included the meteorological equipment, the aircraft used for practical work, and the flight simulator.
At the end of the study visit, the two parties expressed their desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation, while acknowledging the increased cooperation between the two countries within the framework of initiatives by international and regional organisations such as ICAO, AFCAC, etc. The Nigerian delegation expressed deep gratitude for the warm welcome during this enriching experience. Worth noting is the fact that many Nigerian trainees participate annually in training courses provided by the CCAA TS with the support of ICAO and other partner organization.
