Bilateral agreement on air services between Cameroon and Qatar

The Minister of Transport, Mr Jean Ernest Masséna NGALLE BIBEHE, on behalf of the Republic of Cameroon, signed the Air Services Agreement between Cameroon and Qatar with his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulla AL THANI, in Doha, on January 16, 2025 
Strengthened cooperation for new growth opportunities in aviation
The signing of this Agreement marks the establishment of a legal and technical framework for the operation of air services between Cameroon and Qatar, and beyond. This signing is a follow-up to its initialling in 2011 and will enable the establishment of direct air links between the two nations. It will also strengthen air connectivity between Cameroon and the Middle East.
Moreover, its operation is based on principles of mutual interest and compliance with the regulations in force in both countries. The signing of this agreement and its future implementation will also support and facilitate economic and commercial exchanges between the two countries and beyond.
Before the signing, technical experts from the two parties held a working meeting. More so, the national airline CAMAIR-CO and Qatar Airways met, during which opportunities for commercial and technical cooperation between the two airlines were discussed.
The Minister of Transport met with his Qatari counterpart and the Chairman of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority. These exchanges are expected to result in a win-win partnership between the two countries, particularly regarding the technical and commercial aspects of air transport.
In attendance at the signing ceremony were the Directors General of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA), Cameroon Airport Company (ADC S.A), and Cameroon Airlines Corporation (CAMAIR-CO), as well as the Head of the Civil Aviation Division of the Ministry of Transport and a representative from the Ministry of External Relations.
