The 22 new civil aviation safety and security inspectors were sworn in on Friday, December 20, 2024, in the courtroom of the Centre Court of Appeal in Yaoundé.
This important and special event in their careers is a regulatory obligation under the Civil Aviation Code.
This oath-taking before the competent court before the full exercise of their functions, comes after their designation as full civil aviation inspectors by the Director General of the CCAA.
In his requisition, the Public Prosecutor first recalled the missions and responsibilities of these inspectors. He then indicated some of the required qualities, such as competence, impartiality, and moral integrity. For this reason, he asked the candidates to carry out their duties with probity and in compliance with the laws and regulations in force.
The new inspectors then raised their right hands and took the oath, pledging to faithfully perform their duties with impartiality, rigour, probity and objectivity, while observing professional discipline and maintaining professional secrecy in all circumstances.
The President of the Court of Appeal acknowledged this solemn oath and encouraged the new inspectors to be fully aware of the importance of their duties. This new promotion thus enriches the corps of civil aviation inspectors in Cameroon, meeting the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
The first class of civil aviation safety and security inspectors was sworn in in 2013.
At the end of the ceremony, the graduates were invited to take a family photo with the members of the Court of Appeal, to immortalise this memorable moment in their careers.
