A training workshop focusing on the strategy for managing and processing climatological data, dubbed Climsoft, opened at the Training School of the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (EFO-CCAA) on December 1st, 2025. The event gathered distinguished guests, notably the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Transport, representatives from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), and the Director of National Meteorology.
In her welcome address, Mrs. Paule Assoumou KOKI, Director General of the CCAA, recalled the "natural and indispensable partnership" that exists between civil aviation and meteorology. This collaboration is vital given that the continuous availability of reliable, accurate, and up-to-date meteorological data remains a fundamental pillar of air navigation safety.

In line with this collaboration, and with a view to the decisive process of adhesion to the World Meteorological Organization's Regional Training Centres network, initiated by the Ministry of Transport and the WMO, the EFO-CCAA has made its infrastructure and pedagogical expertise available for the training of national and international stakeholders.

The Director General also expressed her deep gratitude to the Minister of Transport for the renewed confidence placed in EFO-CCAA in the field of training.

It is worth noting that this international workshop hosts expert trainers from Kenya, as well as professionals from Burkina Faso, Comoros, Madagascar, the Regional Climate Centres of Cameroon, Niger, and numerous Cameroonian participants.

Over the next five days, participants will be equipped with best practices for the installation, configuration, operation, and advanced data integration using Climsoft version 4. This tool is essential for the modern management of climatological data, ensuring operational excellence and flight safety throughout the sub-region.
