Mrs. Assoumou Koki Paule, the Director General of the Cameroon Aviation Authority, was elected on November 6, 2023, by her civil aviation peers to head the office of the AFI Planning and Implementation Regional Group in Cotonou the capital city of Benin.
This choice reflects recognition of Mrs. ASSOUMOU Koki Paule's proven leadership and expertise in the aviation sector.
South Africa and Nigeria were also elected to the positions of first and second vice-president respectively, which validates their active involvement in promoting the objectives sought by APIRG.
It should be noted that the 2nd meeting of the regional aviation safety group for the AFI region is also being held in Cotonou.
These meetings are all being held under the aegis of the ICAO and will be attended by over 300 experts from Africa and the Indian Ocean. The participants will discuss issues relating to air navigation planning and air safety in the AFI zone, with the ultimate aim of ensuring the safety and security of flights.
The newly elected members of the APIRG board would therefore work together to effectively implement the AFI Group's civil aviation safety plans and promote its growth.
