This initiative aims to raise awareness among young secondary school students of the training courses offered at the School, civil aviation professions and promote civil aviation, in prelude to the 80th International Civil Aviation Day, celebrated on December 7.
For four days, the CCAA Training School will be enabling nearly 1,000 final-year college students from 16 secondary schools and colleges in Yaoundé to discover the intricacies of the aeronautical industry and to envisage fruitful careers in this dynamic sector, thanks to the training programmes offered by the CCAA EFO.
On the second day, December 4, 2024, nearly 200 students attended enlightening presentations on the various professions in civil aviation, such as piloting, aeronautical maintenance, air navigation and air traffic control. Other attractions were also on the menu, such as the match of the unbeatable. Thanks to presentations by EFO CCAA instructors and engineers, the students were immersed in the world of aviation, followed by practical workshops including a visit to the Boeing 737 NG flight simulator and other school facilities such as the engine rooms, VOR, aircraft, library and meteorological equipment.

The future graduates were also given a presentation of the various CCAA structures (DSF, DSA; DTA, SEGC; EFO CCAA) and other key players and partners in the aviation sector such as Camair-co, ADC and ASECNA.
This immersion will undoubtedly spark vocation in some of these young people.
The enthusiasm was evident among the supervisors for the college students, who said ‘This is an excellent initiative, enabling students to discover professions that are sometimes little known to the general public’.
It should be noted that the CCAA Training School is expanding rapidly with its many partners, including the French Luxembourg group Vallair, ENSPY, JAATO, ASSA-AC and more.
This year 2024, it also obtained the prestigious ICAO Train Air Plus Silver Member status. The status will be upgraded to Full Gold Member as of January 1, 2025, per the ICAO's 2022-2025 projection. This objective, set by Mrs Paule Avomo Assoumou Koki, Director General of the CCAA, has been achieved thanks to the training programmes offered at the EFO, its modern facilities and its dynamic team of teachers. Soon, EFO could aspire to achieve the status of ‘TCE Platinum Member’, under ICAO's TRAIN AIR Plus Electronic Management System (TPEM), and thus become a world reference in aviation training.
