The Minister of Transport, Mr. Jean Ernest Masséna Ngalle Bibehe, chaired the second ordinary session of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee (NCASC) at the Cameroon Aviation Authority (CCAA)  Training School in Yaounde, on Monday, December 23, 2024, in the presence of the various members, including Mrs Paule Assoumou Koki, Director General of the CCAA.
The primary objective of this session was to assess the state of civil aviation security in Cameroon and to review the actions taken by the various administrations and stakeholders involved. In his opening speech, the Minister emphasized the importance of ensuring compliance with international aviation security standards to strengthen the resilience of the Cameroonian system and maintain the confidence of users of our airport infrastructure.

During the meeting, members discussed the outcomes of a threat assessment conducted by a working group established within the NCASC by the Minister of Transport on October 18, 2024. This assessment focused on the security of Douala, Yaoundé, and Bamenda airports, with plans to extend this analysis to other airports in the future.

The NCASC members also reviewed the follow-up to the recommendations made during the last session and evaluated the current security situation at the country’s airports.

The Minister encouraged all members to collaborate in maintaining the high level of security of Cameroon’s civil aviation system, which was acknowledged by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) during the last security audit conducted in October 2023.
