Members of the CCAA's Major Projects Follow-up Steering Committee met at the institution's training school in Nsimalen- Yaounde at the beginning of December 2024 to assess the level of work on the construction project for the Aviation Authority's future headquarters building.
Dr Ngolle III Patrice Emmanuel, Chairman of the CCAA's board of directors, chaired the meeting, and Mrs Paule Assoumou Koki, Director General, reported on the agenda items.
In the presence of the members of the Board of Directors, representatives of the companies in charge of the construction, the design offices and the contracting authority, it was a question of:
- Assessing the physical progress of the construction work;
- Engage in dialogue with project stakeholders;
- Discuss the difficulties encountered;
- Explore proposed solutions;
- Review project completion schedules.
After reading and approving the first meeting report, a film presenting the CCAA complex on the airport platform was shown. The film highlighted the construction of the headquarters building, which represents phase IV of this major project.

Constructive discussions revealed that the physical progress of the structural works for Phase IV is at 10.32%. The committee recommended that internal architectural and decorative plans be developed, construction work expedited, and orders for furniture, tiles, lifts, and other equipment placed ahead of schedule.
Afterwards, a tour of the building site included the massive crane esplanade, the garden level, comprising blocks 1, 2, and 3, the basement level, and finally, the ground floor.
In the end, the committee congratulated the teams on the smooth progress of the work. The General Manager of the CCAA took advantage of the site visit to reiterate the importance of this strategic project for developing civil aviation in Cameroon.
Once completed, the new headquarters will provide the CCAA with modern, state-of-the-art infrastructure, enabling it to fully fulfil its mission of regulating and supervising civil aviation in Cameroon.
As a reminder, the CCAA headquarters building will be an R+10 building covering an area of 13,000m2 at the entrance to Yaoundé-Nsimalen International Airport. The work will take 42 months to complete.
